Coby DVD224 All Multi Region Code Free Multi-Zone DVD Player

To change the region code on this dvd player IGNORE the instructions on the box, they are incorrect, what you need to do to change the region is:

open dvd tray
press the stop button on the remote
press 70
press menu
use numerical keypad to select the region code (0-6)
close dvd tray
play dvd !!!

This has been my worst experience with any product I have ordered. This unit is simply junk. I had 2 of these sent to me and both fail to operate. Following all instructions and the regional codes still do not appear on the menu screen. They are supposed to show so you can choose what region disc you want to play, but this DVD player just shows a general screen and nothing else. The directions say to ensure disc tray is empty, hit the setup button then hit the vol+, vol-, vol+, vol-, and then the regional codes are supposed to appear from which to choose from. No regional code appears so I cannot even play my disc or any disc!
The manufacturer wrote back to me and says there is nothing else that can be done. Had the seller send me a replacement and it does the exact same thing and doesn't work!
I recommend everyone to avoid this COBY brand, at least avoid multi-regional DVD players from COBY. Try a more reputable brand like Phillips or Pioneer etc. If you don't you'll just be spending your money for nothing! Paying to send back the failed unit is definately not worth the hassle or the costs envolved!!
