As cameras get smaller, a case to match becomes all the more important. This is a great case that does exactly that. It's functional and minimally bulky. Camera is held firmly enough but will slide out without too much effort. The slot for the strap is optional, and we almost never use it. We bought the case to hold a SD870IS, and liked so much that i bought another one so that we have one of our daughter to carry on her backpack waist belt for quick handoff when sharing the camera.

This case fits perfect for the Canon camera we just purchased (as it should). It was in great condition and came very quickly. Very happy with the purchase.

If you need something to keep you camera from getting scratched while u carry it in your pocket or purse then this is the item for you. Note: does not protect against bears, use cautiously.

The first one I had lasted almost three years and several South American trips. It protects the camera and rides nicely on a belt.

Other reviewers who criticized the magnetic catch are correct....when putting the camera into the case or removing it, if you do not hold the cover flap out of the way, the metal magnetic catch really beats up the camera - I learned the "hold the flap out of the way" technique after the third "whack" of my beatiful new camera.....Canon, you need to do a little consumer research and change this metal magnetic catch to a soft velcro one......other than that, it's a beautiful, rich looking case.
