Action Train Table with Lid

I ordered this as a Chrismas gift, and thankfully opened it ahead of time. The lid, made of pressed wood, was damaged, though I realize that happens during shipping sometimes. The company agreed to send a replacement ASAP, but then I discovered that the trestle and station pieces do not fit properly, causing the train to derail every time around the track. This was frustrating to me, so I can only imagine how disappointed a child would be. Forget the lid; I'm sending the whole thing back.

My son received this table as a gift, and we liked it for about the first week. Pieces broke really easily, and the bridge piece never fit the track correctly so it wanted to keep lifting out. This frustrated my toddler to no end. Plus, compared with wooden or other train sets that you can change and rearrange, this table is completely static -- all there is is a windy loop of track, and that gets dull very quickly. Add to that the fact that there was no lid with our table, and it's become a pretty useless and large hunk of junky plastic. Can't wait until Santa brings a wooden train table and set for Christmas, so we can pass this one along to another home! If your kid(s) are into trains at all, skip this one and spend the money on a set that you can add to and use in different ways.

Bought this table today. Putting it together was very easy. The bridge and the train station do not fit right into the table but I managed to push it in so it works. Train it comes with is cheap. But overall I love the table because you can use Thomas or Matchbox cars. I think it was a good buy.

This table is so fantastic! I do home daycare and I have had it for three years now! After three years they are STILL not bored and it is still fun for them! It is very sturdy! It has survived 1 year olds crawling on it, 2 year olds pulling on it,3 year olds throwing cars at it, 4 and 5 year olds hiding under it. This table is perfect for match box sized cars and the small Thomas the Train, trains! One of the bridges snapped on it, I called Step 2 and the sent me the new clips right away!! I think all toddlers should have this table...boys and girls love it!! I have had six children, 5 days a week for the last 3 years playing with it....Sturdy is an understatement!
