Poor return policy
The product was as discribed, but since I received more than one, it had to be returned. The vendor charged a restocking fee. This is not what I have come to expect from Amazon.com vendors. I will not buy from this vendor again. Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Weber Charcoal Chimney Starter
I don't cook with propane because I prefer the charcoal taste. This chimney makes it all happen fast and without the fumes from a solvent based fire starter. Its great. Saturday, December 27th, 2008

Making Sydney Summer Barbies even better!
I bought this at Franklins in Summer Hill and it works a treat, I have a smokey joe and even those blighters need a bit of coal - i love this invention, no hassels, always enough heat - it won't be a waste of money it is well worth it (and i never write on these website reviews but i had to for this product) Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Have not use lighter fluid in almost a year now...
I own two different chimney starters but this is my favorite.
It is very large and will light enough charcoal for my Weber Bullet smoker.
Way faster and safer to use than lighter fluid. Although, being a guy, I sometimes miss those big balls of flames shooting out of my cooker and scorching everything within 10-15 feet.
The Weber Chimney starter is heavy duty, large and very well made. Should last you a long time.

If you don't have one, just get it NOW!
Frankly, you don't need to read anymore reviews on this (even mine!), even if like me you're obsessed about knowing the "real world" performance details of a product before you buy it.
I can only echo what nearly every other person who has this chimney starter has said:
It's a must-have, and it really is better than the others.
Why? It holds more, lasts longer, heats charcoal faster and is easier to use than those that cost less -- or cost more.
I grew up in Missouri and was around outdoor BBQ cooks all my life. I'd never seen a chimney starter until I was watching some cooking show one day. Even then, I didn't rush out to buy one, as I'd developed a decent starting technique on my own after a decade of grilling.
But (again, echoing other reviewers) when I finally did get this, I wish I'd done so years before.
I use large wood chunks a lot in my grilling, and it also works like a charm getting those going.
'Nuff said.
