Whirley-Pop Stovetop Popcorn Popper

Great flavor popcorn, and the corn pops in the same amount of time as microwave popcorn, but this has a better flavor and more of it.

My boyfriend is popcorn crazy. He literally picks movie theaters because of the quality of the popcorn. The first time I made him popcorn with the Whirley-Pop Popper, he couldn't believe it. For a year we took it back and forth between our homes. I gave him one of his own for Christmas this year and he was estatic. You won't be disappointed.

Product works fine although it looks fragile, pay attention to instructions, use med-high heat for popping and turn crank slowly, great with white pop corn as well as yellow. Easy clean up.
Would not recommend theater type popcorn initially supplieds

I love the Whirley -Pop, but I have the worst luck with the gear mechanism breaking. My third Whiley-Pop broke after just three days of use. I have tried repairing it myself with out much luck. The warranty does not work well because its just a little more money to buy a new one. I have given up on Whirley-Pops and now use a Cusinart Popper which works very well.

I have been eating stovetop popcorn for many years. However, I have ruined numerous stockpots by putting in oil and popcorn, putting on the lid, turning the heat up and moving the pot back and forth. While the popcorn would pop, it would often burn on the bottom and the stainless steel pots would end up with charred spots which could not be scrubbed out and over time I would just have to throw the pots out.

The Whirley-Pop is great. Turn on the burner to medium to medium high, put your popcorn and fat in the pot as instructed, put the pot on the burner and turn the crank. Perfect popcorn every time, even with only a tablespoon of oil. And the pot washes out with a bit of soap and hot water and remains like new. My only complaint is that I should have bought the larger size.
