Gives drinks an odd taste
The Nissan Thermos does an excellent job at keeping drinks warm. A cup of coffee will stay warm for at least 2-3 hours. However, the rubber seal near the top of the container (the one that seals the plastic top to the metal bottom) imparts an odor to all hot drinks. I've also found that liquid gets under the rubber seal making cleaning difficult. I don't use this product any more because of the odor.

If only...
...the little flip-top closure on the top didn't drip condensation on my nose when I drank, I'd be very happy with this travel mug - it doesn't leak, beverages stay hot, good size.

Not A Bad Coffee Thermos!!
Hey....IT'S JUST COFFEE!!!
But you want it to stay hot and get enough in one cup to wake you up and get you goiong. This 18 ouncer does it. Once you figure out how much coffee to put in the tumbler (add sweetner, cream, milk ect.) without overfilling this is a good choice for the person who needs 18 not 12 or 14oz of coffee in the morning. If you overfill when you screw the cap down you get spill over and this can be quite messy. Coffee stays hot a long time, no staining and (because of the dual wall system) stays cool outside. 1 star off for price. I'm cheap. I think a coffee cup like this should cost $14. All in all a good product and a good buy!

After several months of use, upgraded to 5-stars
I've had one of these for several months now and I was silently happy with it but, only when someone gave me an Oxo Good Grips LiquiSeal Travel Mug I came to realize what a good product the Thermos really is. It's not perfect, of course and, here are the positives/negatives, as far as I can name them:

+ fits well in most car cup holders
+ top screws tightly, no spills there
+ good insulation, keeps coffee warm for my hour-long commutes
+ relatively easy to clean (had-wash only, no dishwaher)
+ the hinged, flip top close/open lid seems to be the ideal solution

- after several months of daily use, the middle rubber grip (see picture) is no longer tight and it can fall down

This is a great coffee mug for the car, highly recommended, probably the best there is. I am rounding up the 4.5 stars to 5 because the rubber grip, while loose, hasn't completely fallen off and, as I am writing this review (and sipping coffee) it's still in place (it needs slight readjustments, usually after cleaning).

An OK item
I like it but after about a month of use it started leaking from the top. I like how it is larger than most tumblers, and it's not too cheaply made other than the lid issue.....
