The only calculator you need
This little calculator is my favorite calculator of all time. It has been the only calculator I've needed for Algebra, Trigonometry, Calc I, II, and III, Discrete Mathematics, and Differential Equations. I believe I've gone through enough fundamental classes to say with confidence that this calculator has every function you will need.

Things I love about this calculator:

1) Durable
2) Light
3) Small, doesn't take up much room
4) Cheap
5) Works in fractions (won't reduce them to decimal values)
6) Has all the trig functions
7) Even has a pseudo-random number generator
8) Has all the scientific functions you could need
9) Its x^y function accepts fractions for y

The only thing I would add to this calculator would be a logarithm function that I could assign my own base to (log_y). It already has log_10 and log_e, but sometimes a log_2 is useful as well, for instance.

I think the size of this calculator is perfect. It's small and thin, but not too small. The screen is perfectly readable, and the buttons are the rubberized type that provide a nice tactile feel.

good calculator
Product arrived in time. The calculator can work even under very faint light, hence you would never need to pay for the cell battery.

It is great
Casio FX-260 Solar Scientific Calculator is great and easy calculator.
It does not need battery because it uses the solar energy. It has a backspace button. I just love it.
I am an MBA student, and I need a calculator a lot. I asked my professor about which is the best calculator he used.He said Casio FX-260 is great for three reasons:
It is cheap, easy to use and does not use battery. He bought it for $5, but I bought it from amazon for $12 because I did not have time to go and buy it from the shopping stores. Any way,I bought saving time with the extra money that I have paid for.
I just wish that this calculator would have the formula when you write it because you just see the numbers that you enter and the result.

Not Quite.
My calculator hangs when I try to switch modes, even when following the instructions word for word. I do a lot of calculating for simple things, however, and that part of it works fine. The solar function is far advanced from the older style; I have a solar calculator that is 25 years old and still running, and this one will work under lower light conditions and has a brighter display.

Excellent Calculator
This is a perfect calculator, very easy to use, and the buttons are just right.

If you're looking for an inexpensive yet thorough calculator, this is the one for you.
