Works great for PS3
I just replaced mine 40GB PS3 drive a couple weeks ago with this and it worked fantastically.

Just a few notes about the process. You *can* re-download anything you have purchased, but a better way is to do a full harddrive backup using the PS3 backup utility. I didn't have a spare hard drive or flash drive large enough to accomplish this, but I do have a 60GB 5th Gen ipod, and it worked fine. There are plenty of tutorials online that show how to do it, including a great one on youtube that helped me out.

Two things to know if you go that route, make sure to sync all your trophies on all accounts before you backup, as all trophy data is NOT backed up. When you play each game for the first time after you backup/restore, it will reinstall the trophies on your local system and then you must re-sync to pull them back down from the PSN.

Unfortunately, this will mean that trophies you got on games you rented or borrowed will never show up on your local PS3 system again (unless you re-get the game), but they still show on your PSN profile and factor into your overall ranking.

Hope this helps.

Great upgrade for PS3
I bought this hard drive to upgrade my PS3. It works great and was very simple to install. It seems well built and runs quietly, I have had no problems. I would recommend this drive to anyone looking to upgrade.

WD 2.5" 320 GB Scorpio rocks!!
I purchased this drive as a replacement internal hard drive for my White MacBook and have been nothing but pleased with it. In the past I had messed around with the hard drive before, but still I went to OWC.com where there is a video explaining exactly what to do from battery, bracket and hard drive removal, to replacement. I have had no problems and given that its a 5400 rpm drive as was the original drive, I have not seen any effect on battery life. Seeing that I still have over 200 GB of free space still makes me giddy.

Recomiendo la compra de este HD
Reeplacé en mi MSI U100 el hard disk WD de 80 GB por este WD de 320 GB en 10 minutos y funciona perfectamente.
Es recomendable para ampliar la capacidad de almacenamiento de la MSI.

No regrets.
I have to say, after doing considerable research on upgrading my 60GB PS3, I choose this hard drive above all. It's very easy to install, and was damn near the same exact price of the 250GB HDD (made by the same company, which is now $5 more than the 320gb at the moment for some odd reason) that I was contemplating putting in. So, yeah, you're getting 100 extra gigs at the cost of nothing. Awesome deal, can't believe how easy it was to take out the old hard drive and put this one in. There's also no need to do anything with the HDD if you plan on using it as a PS3 HDD substitute. It'll format it to what it needs and everything.

Fantastic product. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to upgrade their PS3's. You won't regret it.
