dry vs wet leaves
The first time I used the Flowtron, it worked great. I had a lot of dry leaves. The next time I used it, the leaves were heavy and wet. I had to stop the flowtron frequently and clean out the container that you drop the leaves in. The leaves would clump and not fall thru and it did not mulch up the leaves like it did with the dry leaves. Still worked better than raking the leaves, putting them in a wheel barrow and hauling to the compost pile.

Not worth the money
This machine lasted through about three bushels of leaves and then the motor burned up. You can expect to change cords after every bushel of leaves. And this was after carefully sorting out the twigs. This was definitely not worth the money.

Flowtron Leaf Chopper
This is a marvelous tool if you need mulch for your flower or veggie beds. It's not the easiest to assemble, and it's just a tad flimsy, but in the end, I like it a lot. One really can shred huge piles of leaves into a fraction of their original volume very quickly. If you go too fast, it will clog up, the leaves must be dry and without sticks, and the "weed whacker" plastic strings don't last more than a half an hour of use, but they are easy to replace. The ecological sensibility of reusing what nature gave us makes this tool very satisfying to have and use.

Flowtron Ultimate Mulcher 8-Amp Electric Leaf Shredder
Considering the relatively inexpensive price, the Flowton Leaf Shredder does an excellent job providing you don't try and use it to grind up twigs and branches or shred wet leaves. I've used it for about a month on the "course" setting and only pass through dry leaves in small quantities. If you're seeking to grind up an acre or more of leaves you might consider another type of unit.
