A great LCD, a great VALUE
After waiting for YEARS, super LCD, at the right price point, with the right features for me, not too heavy at around 70 pounds, perfect for a wall mount, touch-of-colour matches faux painting scheme on our plaster beautifully, 1080p, great connections, great HDTV viewing on HD channels, and DVD, this is an outstanding product.
Look at some Plasmas, look at Sony Bravia, then decide. This TV seems to have motion blur covered, black background, brightness and contrast covered, no speaker bar to look at, a nice color accent, very clean. The pioneer plasmas are great too, and the Sony Bravia's ... you just have to go see and decide on what works for you. The Samsung is a very nice product that should be on your short list. I know folks at Best Buy who cannot wait to 'get theirs' :)
R we not lucky to be alive now? Can't WAIT for Olympics, followed by football season, woohoo!

Awesome TV for this price range
I was debating between the samsung 650, 550 and TN71F. It came down to this one and I just got it a week ago. I am SO impressed! I was worried about glare because our tv sits in our frontroom with large windows that shine directly on that wall and the tv and I never notice it ever. The picture is very clean, great hookups, etc. As with others the only real drawback is the sound is not great, but if you get speakers its not bad. Blacks are black, HDTV look extremely crisp and non-HD output looks great as well.

Stop your endless searching here! Get back to your loved ones, they miss you!
After 4 months of exhaustive research - both online and by word-of-mouth - going back and forth between technologies, swamped with 1080-this and refresh-rate-that (if you are reading this, odds are you are as I once was) it was with great trepidation that I at long last clicked on the purchase button for this Samsung 52" TOC LCD beauty.
All my anxiety was for naught.
This is a humdinger of a TV and it worked fantastically right out of the box, no adjustments needed (though of course I had to fiddle with it a bit just to show it who was the boss).
Once it was mounted on our wall (now that was a production) and all the new components were safely stowed in the other room and connected (with a Hot Link Pro Remote Control Booster System; unbelievably worth the money, astounds your friends and works like a star) this TV has become an trusty member of the family or like a faithful family retainer who quietly goes about their work with no fuss.
I will say this, two of the inputs (one HDMI, one composite) aren't functional, but that is being handled by Samsung's delightful tech support (We had a service appointment, but it coincided with a 5 day visit from my parents (well worse than hanging the TV) so we have rescheduled. But I am just being persnickety because we only need three inputs any way.
I digress.
If you are at the end of your tether on your HD search, I feel your pain. I have been there. But this baby will make all that a distant memory.
Oh, as for the Touch of Colour, it's subtle to the point of being unnoticeable and adds an air of class to what would otherwise be a $2500 box hanging on your wall.
Plus, the delivery was awesome. Truly white glove all the way up our three flights of stairs, no added charge (though we bought them lunch).
I will always be thankful to this TV from freeing me from the endless HD comparision hunt.
Good luck with yours.

Samsung LN52A650 - absolutely great!!!
I just received it and got it set up with no problems. The delivery was great, so kudos to Amazon for doing that so smoothly and quickly. The TV itself has been great and the color is superb. It was easy to get going with it and have it learn the new channels. My suggestion is not to just fumble around and try to figure things out, but to go through the quick setup guide the provide. That will answer most of the questions you have on how to hook something up. I just hooked up my Wii system to it, and I must say that the colors are spectacular. My only problem with the system is that it looks so good that I tend to just sit and watch TV because it looks so good. The only nitpick I might have is it would be good if Samsung also put a small section in the quick setup guide on hooking up a game system, since they address just about every other possibility. Other than that, no complaints at all. Plus, the TV just by itself looks great; very nice job by Samsung. Overall, very happy and would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in a great TV at a cost that won't bankrupt you. Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

Excellent TV, Great Price
This Samsung TV is one of the best LCD's on the market. The picture in both SD and HD is magnificent. I have always owned Sony TV's and feel the Samsung is much better than the Sony XBR4 at almost half the price. I performed a side by side comparison of these two TV's in my house and the Samsung had a much more vibrant picture. The first Samsung I ordered from Amazon arrived before the date promised and the White Glove delivery was excellent. This TV, however, had a couple of clearly visible flaws from the factory on the top edge. I notified Amazon and they sent out another TV within a week and took the first one back. The second TV was flawless and dealing with Amazon was no problem at all. I highly recommend the Samsung LN52A650 and buying from Amazon. Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008
