Black & Decker Lawn Hog 12 Amp 19-Inch Electric Mulching Mower with Rear Bag #MM875

This product is not perfect. It is largely plastic, and prone to breakage if you use it as though it is of the old, all-metal construction. In fact, between the time we took delivery on our second unit and my dropping the first at the dump, we had to cannibalize a part from the prior unit. That said, we prefer an electric model, and when used judiciously it will plow through and handle long, thick grass and mulch up leaves, to boot. Just be sure not to run it over hard objects, which one shouldn't do in any case, but the plastic construction really comes clear when you might do so. Also the electic motor can burn out if you try running it mercilessly in damp grass. Our first unit had the motor replcaed under warranty during the first season's use --- and then we slowed down. So, we don't necessarily expect this unit to last a whole lot longer than the three years we had the first...but if we run it within reason, we can hope to enjoy a mower that always starts on the first switch.

This mpwer was received in a timely manner. I already owned a Grass Hog Trimmer which I like quite a lot, I purchased this mower when transitioning from full-time RVing to a stick house again. It works great.

This is our second electric mower and is just great for smaller yards. We use a 100 ft electrical cord which provides plenty of reach. The best feature for us is that it is a breeze to start and no oil or gasoline needed.

My old mower was worn out. Even the tires were bald! So I started looking for a new one and thought, "Why not an electric?" I searched them out on the 'net and saw that this Black and Decker was highly rated and well-reviewed plus Amazon's price was well below anyone else's, so I ordered it and don't regret it one bit. It's quiet, light (I can push it with one hand) and there's no fighting it to get it started, either. It cuts through my heavy bermuda grass with ease and the catcher on the back is more than big enough. I also like the idea that I'm doing something good for the environment and not throwing out a lot of exhaust, dust and noise!

Had to use it only twice. This is my first lawnmover, so cannot compare it to anything else. So far very satisfied with the performance.
