This is good for decorative lighting, to illuminate a dark corner or shelf, but it is not bright enough to light up a whole room or to read by -- it's more like a nightlight, just bright enough to keep a room from being totally dark, but not a replacement for lamps or overhead lights.

I use it as an under kitchen cabinet light. It is bright and my wife loves it. I tried many other products, they are either not bright enough or don't cover enough space. Finally, this is it. On top of that, it is not expensive compare with other products.
