Gpx Go Video Video Boombox

Purchased this item from Amazon, it did not even power on. Returned it back for full refund. Was a great disappoinment as I ordered this as an birthday gift.

Just recieved this item for my birthday and was quite suprised. I'd asked for a portable dvd player a ways back and was VERY glad to recieve this one.

Not just a small dvd player, but also a boom box. Radio, cd, dvd, playback of all types. Its overall very interesting. I've not yet delved into its mp3 or mpg or avi playing capacity, but even if its simply a DVD/radio/CD/ player with great sound and compact size and great video, then i'll settle for that ;)

A real shame... video and audio quality quite acceptable. BUT... the AC power cord DOES NOT reliably connect to the unit. So unless you don't mind going through 8 C-cells at a time, beware! I even returned the first one for a replacement and the AC connector was just as bad.

It was what it stated in the product description.It would have been even a greater value if it had a digital television tuner built in. I was disappointed with the size and weight.But then I was used to the boomboxes from the 1980's and 1990's(JVC Kaboombox,etc.)The sound was okay but the bass button performed below par.Again I'm used to the older models where the bass would rattle your teeth and pop out your eardrums.I guess with older technology things weighed more which is why I was taken aback with how light it was.Either parts got smaller and better or metals were replaced with plastics.Overall it was okay but if it had a surprise digital television tuner then I would have given it five stars instead of three.

Great little boom box. I was thrilled when I found out that it also plays Karaoke. I had not seen that mentioned in the description of the product.
I use it to study my Bluegrass banjo lessons using the video and then am able to play along with over 140 MP3's that I have recorded.
If I have just a few I want to practice I use the USB port.
You have to do a little work around with the music ID and the sound could be a tad better. This would be the only reason I am not giving the unit a five star.
