Saved My Laminate Floors!
Made a HUGE error and used one of those miracle 2-step clean & shine products (makes them look better than new!!!) on my laminate floors. At first, I thought wow, looks good - WRONG!
Started to look bad, so, stupidly used the products again (learnng curve). Floor became dull, sticky, grimy, and showed footprints all over. Used every cleaning product in my arsenal - no luck, floors just kept getting worse.
Finally (desperate now) decided to try this steamer. Well, it sure did the job, although it took a minimum of 6 (six) cleanings to get the gunk off. Had to use mutiple pads, because the gunk dries like concrete (well, almost that bad), but in the end, I have my floors back to looking beautiful again. Trust me, NEVER use any of that stuff, no matter what they claim, they will all leave a semi-permanate unsightly residue.

Works Great
This item works great. It does generate a little more steam than my previous steam cleaner making it easier to push. I should have bought this unit initially.

Buy one, you'll be glad you did
I've got a fair amount of ceramic tile floors in my house and like to keep them clean. But the act of mopping is a lot of tedious work and then I have to wait for them to dry. I was and continue to be amazed at how clean my floors come out using this steam mop. Even the grout is brightening up. The only slight complaint I have is it leaves behind a little more water than I expected. But then, my house is always cooler than nearly anyone's, so the steam may be condensing more than it would for most people.

Fantastic in all respects
I bought this mop after years of neglecting my linoleum. I've intermittently mopped with a mop & bucket, but always hated the feeling of pushing dirty water around on the floor. Recently I had updated to a two-sided bucket that alleviated that problem, but I was still not thrilled. I gave this product a shot because I was able to get it for free (through a promotional deal with my school), but I never imagined how great it would be! Without any soap or chemicals at all, it got up stains that my vigorous mopping had not budged. It was fast, easy, and painless. I love that there is no waste - you just throw the pad in the washing machine afterwards. The only negative is that the cord is rather short - easily solved with an extension. I am 100% happy and would recommend this product to anyone!!

A Handy Item to Own
Received my steam mop a few days ago, and couldn't wait to try it out. Easy to assemble (only two screws). Watch out for the rolled up cardboard stuck in the bottom of the handle, though!!! Not sure why they put it there, but it was a stupid idea. Mine came with two mop pads (one already on the steam mop). Now for the review:

(1) Initial start-up time is a little longer than I expected, but the second use was much, much faster. You'll know it isn't ready when it makes noises while you squeeze the trigger.

(2) I have a large eat-in kitchen with vinyl flooring. The flooring never had a high gloss finish - even brand new, so dirt is always captured in the texture of it. Always a pain to clean, no matter what I use. The Bissell steam mop did a really good job, though. I cleaned the large kitchen and adjoining utility room with it, and the mop was pretty darned dirty. I grabbed a wet paper towel and scrubbed the floor to see if it was clean, and there was still a little dirt (I live in the country and we have red clay here, so it's not hard to miss it). I cleaned the floor a second time with the steam mop and a clean pad, and it was much better. I had no idea just how dirty the floor was until I used this thing. I might just do it a third time!!!! It looked and felt A LOT better after the first cleaning, though. I could've stopped there and not known there was still red dirt residue on my floor!

(3) Sanitizing the floor, using their recommendation of 15 seconds, probably isn't even necessary. The steam warms the floor up pretty well during normal usage. I mean, WHO actually sanitizes the floor? If you want it THAT clean, I'd use bleach water after steam cleaning, anyway. However, holding the mop on a spot with dried goo, gunk, or a stain is a great idea. That DOES work well.

(4) The ergonomics of the mop are fine. The handle is going to work for almost anyone of average or tall height. YOU DO have to angle the handle down toward the floor a little to avoid the "drag" of the cloth against the floor (which is minimized with more steam). Use it like a vacuum and it's just right. The swivel head works great... can get in or under just about anywhere. And, the cloth mop pad at the edges will help you get into corners and along baseboards (although that's not going to be as effective as doing it by hand).

(5) Water tank can be just a bit tricky to get back on the first time you use it, but once you figure out that the little grooves in the side of the water tank have to slide over the guides, it will be fine. My water tank had a very small leak the first time I used it, but it didn't seem to do that the second time. Maybe the rubber gasket has to get broken in?

I think this item is a definite KEEPER. I'm glad to have it... no more sticky chemical residue on the floor. No waiting forever for the floor to dry. No more dirty mops in the closet. NO dragging around a bucket of yucky water. I'm free.
