Bounty Paper Towels, Select-A-Size, Prints (Case of 24)

I love Bounty's Select-a-Size rolls. I also love the idea of free shipping from Amazon. However, I notice that bigger is not always better.

The price on this Bounty bulk package is $0.015929 per sheet (3,312 sheets on 24 rolls). My local grocery store is selling Bounty select-a-size at $0.01179 per sheet (1,440 sheets on 15 rolls).

If I bought 24 rolls at my grocers, I would pay $39.04 ($0.01179 x 3,312 sheets). Amazon is charging at $52.79 for 24 rolls.

In this instance, bulk is definitely not better.

I don't like having to take a big piece of paper towel when a little bit will do. I also don't like changing the roll, so I get the roll with the highest sheet count I can. Bounty's softish, tough and absorbent, so I can use that bit of towel for more than one chore. The only thing I don't like is the prints; I'm used to buying just plain white paper towels (for ecological reasons), which Amazon was out of when I needed these. I should have waited for the white ones to be restocked. (When "greener" paper towels work like these do, I'll switch.) That said, the prints do cheer up the kitchen a bit more than the white ones.

Although I'd love to buy these locally, stores don't have Select-a-Size, or they don't have the big/giant rolls, or the price is not right. I'm not about to spend that much on gas to locate an ultimately unreliable supply. Moreover, I usually shop at small grocers and farmers' markets, so a special trip to get paper goods is a waste of time and gas. Enter Amazon: home of reasonably priced bulk goods delivered to your door. Problem solved.
