Right up there with the parting of the Red Sea!
At first I thought the name was sort of ridiculous but it turns out.. no! This blanket has made all of the difference for our little guy... he is a great sleeper as a result of using it. He is now 3 1/2 months old and we're starting to consider discontinuing it soon but we're certainly not in any rush... it's incredible - an essential baby item! Monday, October 20th, 2008

Almost perfect
I bought this after reading all the reviews and giving up on the other swaddling blankets I have been using for my 2 1/2 month baby. I had tried the Halo brand and DO NOT like the velcro because it is too noisy and catches on things when the baby moves around or when transferring him from and to bed. I also tried regular blankets, but they don't stay. So, I decided to try the Miracle Blanket since my baby sleeps better swaddled.
It probably would have worked great when he was younger, but he is a pretty strong little fellow and already at this age he can wiggle out of the blanket, no matter what I do and there's nothing to hold it secure. Also, one night I went in to feed him and the long piece that was wrapped tightly around his arms (over the other two little flaps that hold each of his arms), below his head, had moved up over his face as he had wiggled around and since nothing holds the long piece down it didn't stay down when he pushed up with his arms. This scared me pretty good, so I haven't dared to use it since.
Thus, I gave it four stars because I think it would work great up to two months old, but after that if your baby is strong enough to wiggle around it isn't safe. I think it needs some place on the front where you could tie it or tuck it in so that the large flap will stay put even if the baby does end up getting his arms out.

Does exactly what it says...
When I first bought this product it seemed a little overly complicated. Plus, my daughter seemed a bit small for it. As a result I ended up using the Kiddopotamus swaddle which is simpler but in my opinion much more cheaply constructed and easily outgrown.
I started going back to using this product now that my daughter has a few more weeks on her, and I absolutely love it. Now that I've gotten the hang of putting it on her, she goes to sleep so much faster and sleeps for longer periods at a time. It also helps in keeping her warm at night as her room can get really drafty. I would easily recommend this to anyone with a child who responds well to being swaddled. It's the best way to swaddle that I've seen.

A Must Have
The Miracle Blanket is the only swaddler that my baby cannot wiggle out of. She is three months now, sleeps 7+ hours a night tightly bundled in her Miracle Blanket (for naps, too). When we try to put her down without it, she will not sleep nearly as well - if at all. We bought three and will continue to swaddle her until she is ready to sleep without it.
Pros- Baby cannot get out
Cons- None

Swaddling Houdini
My son is a big strong boy, weighing in at 13 lbs and 12ozs at his 2 month checkup and measuring over 24 inches long. This made it difficult to find a way to wrap him, even in the largest swaddling blankets we purchased. He is also a bit of a Houdini.
We bought the Swaddle Eaze product and were disappointed. Not only was the cloth cheap and scratchy, the velcro stuck to everything in the dryer! Additionally, I felt like I was putting my baby in a straight jacket at bedtimes.
So, I was thrilled when I recieved my Miracle Blanket. It is such a soft, quality cotton! And it is a gentle, but very effective method of swaddling an escape artist. My baby likes it too, no fussing or crying when I lay him down to wrap him up.
It takes very little practice to wrap your baby in this and you will love the way he/she sleeps longer and more restfully when you swaddle him or her. :) I recommend buying 2 so you have one if the other gets soiled.
