I Kissed A Girl

guys listen to the song because they like two chicks kissing eachother so later on they can get them in bed. why would you care about a song that has no real emotions or feelings in there music poppy trash. this and country music deface the very word of rebellion and anarchy.

Like it or not, this is the summer song. Yes its catchy, and sorta cheesy but its really good. I can listen to over and over and never get tired of it. I liked it, alot. Katy Perry is the best new artist of 2008, and im looking forward to seen her alot more in the future.

What I dont understand is why some of the other reviewers have to bring up the whole former christian stuff? why does it matter that she was a former christian? what does religion have to do with this song? yes, she sings about kissing someone of the same sex but why bring up some of your own religion beliefs in the the conversation? There are tons of songs out there, new and old, about more controversial things such as killing, drugs, gangs, and hate, but when it comes to a same-sex kiss, people are up in arms about. I dont get it.

This song was my favorite song for about two weeks then it got old, I guess because the lyrics are so simple even a dog could write them .

Yes, the topic is nothing deep and sometimes you just wanna hate it but the rhyme scheme and the fun lyrics drive this song into listen-able territory.

It's undeniable that this will get your feet a' tapping.

Obviously this song is geared towards getting peoples attention due to the subject matter. Isn't that the point of Pop music (as well as having a catchy tune, which I believe this song does)? I do agree that it seems to be trying too hard in some ways and not enough in others though. Katy herself seems to be trying (or being directed toward trying) too hard to be unique and hip for today, though the song itself is far from complex and revolutionary. However, like it or not, it's a catchy and fun song with a slightly different flavor that grabs people. But to each their own opinion.
