I Kissed A Girl

Driving through my small town one day, this song suddenly popped onto my radio. I wasn't sure exactly what to make of it at first, but to hear a female talking about kissing another female, and liking it? How much more Punk Rock can you get? Let's just say I blasted it.
The whole song is fun, but once I went back and went over the lyrics, I mean, "I hope my boyfriend don't mind it"? Who cares if he does? It would have been a WHOLE lot more intriguing, had she said, "Screw my boyfriend, I don't need him", or something along those lines.
In the end I'd say, it's okay if there is nothing else on, just make sure you sing loud.

I don't listen to radio. Really never do. One night I was at this bar and this song came on and it caught my ear and I listened to it all the way through and the thing that popped into my head was "Wow that's a damn good pop song, who is that?"

I've been meaning to download this song. The bottom line is this, this song is great as far as modern pop songs go. It has a fantastic electro vibe with a taste of new wave built in. This is not IMO the standard garbage that many of these negative reviews are geared towards. It's easy to hate something when it's popular but you know what some things that are popular are actually not that bad and deserve the credit they get.

This is one of them. Great pop song writing. Worth the download.

Alright so here is the deal, this coming from a heterosexual, middle-class white girl...I like the song a lot. I think it not only speaks to a new generation, it's funny. I don't know if the song is supposed to be taken literally but nonetheless I still like it. Not only does the song have a kicking beat but Katy Perry's voice is amazing. If you a person who is a little bit of a homophobe, well then this song is not for you nobody is forcing you to listen to it either. However, if you are like me and believe in the freedom of expression, I am positive you will dig this song as much as I do! So here''s to good times, good laughs, and good music!

Well, if you are a prude, homophobe and otherwise disinclined to be amused by Perry's admission that she kissed a girl and liked it then just stop reading and navigate to a music selection more suited to your prejudices.

Otherwise, the song is fun, a little bit of thump and her vocals are just fine. It's good enough that I stop channel hopping on XM when I happen on a channel playing it, and I marked it as a fav on my Zune.

This is NOT a cover of Jill Sobule's "I Kissed A Girl". This one makes Ms. Sobule's version sound clever and charming. (well, it is, but that's not the point).

The bass line is what I would expect to hear from a tricked-out Monte Carlo with hydraulic shocks. The sexual innuendo is delivered by shouting. In short, the song is as deep and subtle as its title.

Disappointed.
