4 months and working fine
I have been using the HydroRight for 4 months without any problems. I love saving water! I was skeptical but wanted to try it anyway. I was pleasantly surprised that it works so well. It was easy to install. I plan to order one for another toilet soon.

Installed it today, so far, so good
Had to do a bit of adjusting, the 1/2 flush wasn't quite enough initially, but it adjusted pretty easily. Took maybe 5 minutes to install. And it was lucky that I decided to do the replacement, the rubber flapper that had been there was deteriorating to a point that it was mush in places.... so the timing on this was perfect too.

May have a long payback time
This is a nifty device but if you're buying it to save big bucks it will most likely take a very long time to pay for itself. Our water is dirt cheap so the payback is many years however I bought it to reduce what goes into my septic system. The device installs easily but requires some fine tuning of the adjustments to work perfectly. I installed it and the Hydroclean in an ancient 1975 toilet and they work as advertised.

Worth it? You decide...
I picked up one of these at Costco on a whim and then figured out whether it would be worth the cost and how long it would take to pay itself back. Our toilets we have are low water use 1.6 gallon per flush. This does not say how much water flows through with the small flush, just that it can reduce water use by "up to" 70%. Let's say this cuts the flush in half to .8 gallons/flush like many dual flush toilets. At 8 half flushes a day, it would save us 2,336 gallons/year. That's a lot of water yes. But when we look at our water bill, that equates to $4.79/year. It would take 4 years to financially break even on this investment if we retrofitted one of our three toilets in the house and only used the one toilet. Sorry, but this is going back to Costco. If we are still in our house that long, we will be looking at new toilets any ways and upgrading to dual flush at that time.
