Job done
Well...not much to say really. Got it for my Pentax K-x (EXCELLENT camera) to clean the lenses. Does the job and does it well. Monday, July 26th, 2010
Great tool to have in your bag.
I have used this to remove finger prints from filters, and it was very handy recently when I had to fix one of my zoom lenses that I broke. While diagnosing the problem, I put a fingerprint on one of the elements inside of the lens. This little champ erased it like it was never there. Love the charcoal end to clean the smudges so effortlessly. Monday, July 26th, 2010
Good for occasional fingerprints.
For the convenience and price and compact size, this product works great. For absolutely spotless squeaky clean, use Nikon Lens cleaner or Residual Oil Remover on clean microfiber cloth and clean Saturday, July 24th, 2010
Compact and easy to use
Bought it for my D90 to make a cleaning kit to fit the pocket
There are some cheapos for fraction of this price
they may do good but I went to branded ones....
Any how I keep my gears clean so minimal use for these items.
I used the brush to clean dust and small particles on the filters (never expose you lens glass) and some times to dust off my camera body
The felt cup/tip to clean smudges / finger prints on the glass
Its worth having to maintain your grands worth of gears

Very Disappointed Lifetime Nikon User
I've used Nikon products for 40 years, a veritable Nikon fan, but I wouldn't recommend that anyone buy this pen. When I saw this lens pen I thought it was a great idea to have such a compact cleaning system that I could put in my pocket, and I really wanted to like the product. So I was quite surprised and disappointed to discover that this pen is as useless as it is, and I think you could actually damage your glass with it very easily.
The pen didn't remove many smudges while it merely smeared around other ones, and leaves behind some kind of film/coating and occasionally tiny sparkly bits that I had difficulty removing. When I pressed the tip onto paper the pen left a black ring on the paper, so now I need to clean my filter with tissue and cleaner to get rid of what the pen left behind. The cloth material glued to the tip fell off the first time I used it.
The tip consists of a rigid stem and kind of looks like a miniature plumber's helper. A thin piece of material is glued to the stem, which fell off the stem the first time I used it. I'm not very comfortable using this rigid stem, where there is very little give, on my expensive glass. It seems like it would be too easy to press too hard on a nasty smear and damage the glass. When one uses one's finger the pressure is spread over a larger area and is softer on the lens. Since you can't clean the tip, the tip will accumulate dirt over time which will scratch the lens.
So I recommend that you stay away from this product, and instead use lens tissue (not a reusable cloth that will also accumulate grit over time) and sparingly use a good lens cleaning solution. The retractable brush is nice, but I use a camel hair make-up brush that also retracts.
