Very nice, does exactly what you would expect it to do
very nice, smaller then looks in picture (which is a plus as not heavy on finger) - don't need to read any directions, just put your finger in and you get your reading, very cool and great price Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010
Great little oximeter
I checked the GO2 against my CRT's way more expensive machine. Her's was on one finger the GO2 on another. The readings matched perfectly for the two minutes I wore them. Thursday, February 25th, 2010
Heathcare Professional overview
I work as an EMT, the product overall is kinda poorly made. The clip that holds onto the finger is held on by little plastic piece. The display was nice, but mine didn't work when i got it, but a friend also got one, it is relativly accurate, hooked up a blood pressure machine and pulses matched. For 100$ i wouldnt say it is nice enough to pay for, maybe in half that it would be a possibility. Perhaps if the construction of the device was better and the price was cheaper then i would advise it. As for now do your self the favor and keep the money and but yourself a cheaper one, or spend the money and get a good one. Wednesday, February 24th, 2010
Easy To Use
Nonin GO2 Achieve Fingertip Pulse Oximeter - Blue
Getting measurements from this meter is fast and the monitor is easy to use. You can take it any place and it lights up in the dark....O2 measurements seem accurate. The heart rate monitor MAY be a little off (I am comparing it to taking my own pulse and using a LifeCycle monitor), but the oxygen readings seem on target. Do not trust readings in the cold or when your hands are cold. This device seems correct with moderate exercise, but if you move around a lot, wait until you are still to get a true reading. I got what I paid for and I love the Nonin O2 Oximeter!

We were told you couldn't get this sort of thing
Upon leaving the hospital after a recent visit no one mentioned that we should be trying to monitor my wife's O2 saturation. (she had had pneumonia and a small heart attack). A week later her doctor measured her Oxygen saturation and said she should be on oxygen until he pneumonia cleared up. When the medical supply company came with oxygen equipment, I asked if their was anyway we could monitor her saturation. He said there was a device, but it cost $500 and wasn't covered by insurance.
A friend suggested I check on e-bay. They had a wide variety of devices between $10 and $50. Not wanting to deal with e-bay hassles I called the local pharmacy who said it was "medical equipment and they didn't carry anything like it (though they have plenty of other medical devices like blood pressure and glucose monitors.
I finally check with Amazon and lo and behold they had these devices that ranged in price from the mid-50's to over $200 dollars. I pick this one that seemed easy to use, accurate enough for our purposes, and could be shipped quickly. Now we don't have to guess about her oxygen absorption. And it gives a pulse rate and pulse strength reading too.
We've had no problem with it. Even though her need of supplemental oxygen should be temporary, this device allowed us to see her oxygen state under different conditions. We are glad we found this product. BTW, when we showed it to the Dr. who originally order the oxygen, she was amazed. She didn't know such a device could be purchased so cheaply for home use.
