Corrupt Files!!!!!
Buyer Beware! The Sandisk Cruzer is NOT the drive you want to store Microsoft Office files. I used my drive for app. two weeks without incident. All of a sudden, several Excel files failed to load and a dialoge box opened saying a file was corrupted; then a few Word files were corrupted. Now all the Office files are corrupted. I tossed the POS.

SanDisk Cruzer Micro 8 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Bought for my daughter. No complaints at all.

Main reason for purchase was the brand name and capless product.Had many drives in the past, all with caps and all were lost in the end.

Would recommend.

Convenient, portable, and suitable for my needs
Removing U3 was a cinch.
Although the fact that lots of USB flash drives are getting cheaper and cheaper dramatically esp. at this time of the year makes me think that my shopping timing was sort'a premature, I'm pretty satisfied with this not-so-big-but-fit-for-my-regular-needs thumb stick.
It's good for carrying around in the pocket.

Cheap build quality, annoying light
I recently bought this flash drive for $20 (on sale from $50) because I thought it was a good deal. But even at $20, it seems to cheap for that price. It is made from all plastic and feels very flimsy. I imagine that the slide mechanism for the USB port will fail in under a year. It comes with U3, which can be easily uninstalled through the built-in U3 program. My biggest gripe, though, is the orange light, that constantly dims on and off. My USB ports are all on the side of my laptop and the dimming is distracting. I haven't been able to find a way to disable it either, so I cannot leave the drive plugged in and work at the same time. Although the price was good, I regret having both this.

U3 removal tool included now! Great little flash drive
Thankfully, the U3 removal tool is now integrated! All we have to do is open the Cruzer software, go to U3 Settings, and choose remove. At the end it sadly tells you the Cruzer is now "a storage device only." During the removal process, it does a FAT 32 format too.

Sturdy build, fast writes. VERY handy.
