Philips Norelco 9160XL SmartTouch-XL Men's Shaver

Gives my sensitive skin with tough, fast-growing beard (not a good combination) a close, comfortable shave. Charge lasts a remarkably long time. Extremely quiet operation. I'm very, very satisfied with this razor.

I have owned this for a year now and love it. It's the quietest shaver I've ever owned. I bought my first Norelco back in 1985, then switched to Remington and then switched to Braun and now back to Norelco. The heads are smooth, it's quiet, charges fast, easy to clean, light weight and shaves close without pulling.

You won't be disappointed if you chose this shaver.

This is a great shaver. Better shave than my old Norelco, fast recharge, and nearly six weeks of shaving on a charge!! The plastic cap, however is poor compared to my old ones. The new ones last only a couple months at best and cost about $9.00 to replace. (The little retaining tabs break off). The older style lasted many months and were cheaper to replace. It looks pretty silly to be traveling with a $150 shaver and have the cap held on by a rubber band! My fantasy is that some Norelco exec will see me shaving in an airport rest room and ask about it.

I was using the same old, abused, uncared for Philips-Norelco electric razor for about 5 years and finally upgraded with this one. Used it for the first time today and it worked like a charm. I was impressed with how much closer it shaves (beyond what I expected), how much quieter it is and the fact you can just rinse with water to clean. On the cheeks it's as close as a razor.

Rather than go with a brand new 8160 model for the same price, I went with a refurbished 9160 because it had the best reviews I could find. I can't say it would be worth upgrading from last year's model, because I wouldn't know; however, if you haven't upgraded for a few years, or if you've been thinking of giving electric another try, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

great shaver never had electric before this one and I am 61 yrs young. Charge seems to last forever. Love it.
