Polk Audio RM6750 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System (Set of Six, Black)

I bought the Polk RM6750 speakers after listening to my dad's polk system for the past 10 years. These speakers have excellent build quality that you would expect from Polk Audio, and a great sound. If you go to a place like Best Buy and look at the home theater in a box systems you will never find as quality of speakers as these Polks. If you want an awesome sounding 5.1 channel surround sound system for the same price as one of the fore mentioned home theater in a box systems I would suggest that you buy these Polk RM6750 speakers for $230-250(whatever it may be that day) and the Onkyo TX-SR505 7.1 channel receiver for $190 with free shipping. This killer combo is much better than anything that you can find in a bundle and works especially well if you already own a DVD player. Also, if you ever want to upgrade to a 7.1 channel system you can always buy two more satellites(RM6751). A really cool feature about the TX-SR505 is that it has Dolby Digital Pro Logic IIx which converts any 2.0 source such as a non-HD TV station to 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound(whichever you have). Another great bargain that I found on Amazon is the Monster Cable XPHP 12 gauge speaker wire for $60 (MSRP=$130). All put together this system sounds great in my living room and I'm so happy that I spent my stimulus check on it.

This was a great system. It was easy to install and produce rich surround sound. The woofer really added to the richness of my music and gave my DVD collection quality it didn't have before. It certainly made my home theater system shine. Thank you.

I found these for $199 @ Fry's. I was replacing and old HTIB system. These are so much better that even my wife (who likes to pretend she doesn't care about such things) is impressed. I haven't even hooked up the rear speakers yet and the sound is just what I was hoping for. Definitely hook up the subwoofer using L/R front speaker wires as suggested on Polk's wonderful website. This made all the difference and not doing so may account for some negative reviews on here.

I'm no expert audiophile of course but the RM6750 will not disappoint anyone whose into movies, music and games on a starter budget. My home entertainment set-up includes a Panasonic plasma tv, Onkyo receiver, Sony PS3 for Blu-ray movies, Xbox 360 for games and these speakers are perfect for my present audio requirements. Fully aware that there are better speakers out there and will most likely upgrade to the next level (Monitors), income permitting but for now these are keepers. Don't forget to pair 'em with the Atlantic 77305018 Satellite Speaker Stands(Black).

The sound is very good, but I was expecting the wires to set it up on the same day...

The size of the speakers were a little bigger than I thought, but I need to be fair: for the price I couldn't get anything smaller or more powerful.
