Samsung LN40A550 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

Before purchasing this tv, I thorougly checked reviews by experts and the rest of us. Samsung had also been recommended to me by a Directv installer, based on the hundreds of sets that he had seen setting up Directv systems. My other HD set is an Olevia HD, with which I am very happy. However, this Samsung gives it a strong run for its money. I am very pleased with both. The Samsung picture is incredibly good. Particularly surprising is how well is handles the SD channels -- they are so sharp that they almost (not quite) rival the HD quality. I would highly recommend this Samsung for its very high quality and convenience of operation. The one shortcoming, noted by other reviewers, is its relatively weak sound system. However, I use a receiver and additional speakers for shows that benefit from enhanced sound and would recommend doing to with almost any HD tv.

Bought this TV about 3 weeks ago, and have had absolutely no trouble with it. The user interface takes a little getting used to, but it is fairly intuitive. The color, design, picture quality... these are all great. Sound is nice too, and the connections are pretty good. Really, I can't say anything bad about this TV - everyone else's satisfied reviews are clearly correct.

i love it. i mainly got it for my playstation 3 and directv.
both look simply amazing. the sound is quite terrible, but i was prepared for that from hearing other reviews, so i hooked up my sony stereo and the problem was solved.

Got this Samsung LCD for $250.00 less than BestBuy with free delivery. Great HD picture and looks great hanging on the wall in our family room. I could be happier with my purchase.

The picture quality of this Samsung LN40A550 is better than I expected. A great pairing with my satellite HD receiver.
