surpassed expectations
After reading reviews on 46" plasma televisions, I visited local Best Buy and Circuit City stores. Having an interest in Samsung, I priced the Samsung LN46A750 and then checked Amazon. The price savings after factoring in sales tax differential etc. was greater than $400. After my Amazon order, the television was delivered to my house in 8 days..no hassles clean as a whistle. As for the TV, it compares favorably to the very nice 50" Pioneer I bought 3 years ago. The combination of price and incredible picture on this Samsung is hard to beat!

My wife didnt notice "halo" effect
I dont wanna talk about how great this TV is. There are 100 reviews about how great this TV is and I 100% agree.

I just wanna add few throughts about "halo" effect. I believe reason why Samsung came up with idea of sharp see-through clear edges cut at 45 degrees is to create feeling that this TV is absolutely flat. If you stand in front of it you get this feeling that its a flat screen and there is nothing behind it. Thats a great selling point. Design is everything when people choose from good quality tvs with similar price.
Unfortunately this clear edge creates "halo" effect which is very noticeable in the dark. When I saw this TV first time I didnt notice it but it was during daytime. Then I read about halo effect online before I bought the TV. Sure enough I notice it but its not too bad. My most surprise is that after a few months my wife still havent noticed it. That tells me if I didnt read the reviews I would've been thinking that everything was just super.....

Great picture and good features but firmware upgrade could be painful
Got my shipment 6 days ago, really happy with the picture, sound, DLNA, wiselink pro, infolink and build in content features. One serious problem happened to my TV when I upgraded the firmware to August 10 release. The upgrade was successful, but all build in content disappeared. A Samsung service tech came to my house and told me there is a microchip damaged and need to bring the TV back to their shop to repair. It really scares me. This is not kind of quality I expected from Samsung, and whatelse can be wrong. Time will tell. Anybody has similar issue?

Just to follow up with my situation. I called Amazon customer support line and described my situation. The customer support rep. quickly placed a replacement order for me. I received the new TV 4 days later. They will come to pick up the old one today. I checked Samsung web site, the August 10 firmware is no longer available. New firmware is dated Oct. 21. I have not seen any problem with new TV, so no upgrade is necessary. A+ goes to Amazon's customer service.

All-around pleased
After reviewing dozens of websites and Consumer Reports, we decided to purchase this LCD tv. We have been extremely pleased with the picture and sound quality. We recently added DishHD and are experiencing even better quality, depth and clarity. We have recommended this tv to friends and acquaintances--even our plumber who was in the market for a new tv!
