Samsung PN50A650 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV with RED Touch of Color

I have had this product now for a few weeks and am very satisfied with the picture. I have it connected to a home theater receiver and blu ray player, as well as a roof antenna for local HD broadcasts. The HD picture quality from the roof antenna is as good as I have seen, equal to my CRT HD TV which failed, and this Panasonic replaced. The picture produced from blu ray disks is also excellent, the best description I can think of is as though one were looking through a window - very crisp and clear. I would purchase it again.

After much analysis and evaluation of the different technologies and models, I zeroed in on this plasma. Turns out the best price I could find was on Amazon. Received it in less time than originally told - a good thing. This TV has an excellent picture, and came out of the box setup nicely and ready to run. Only had to bring down the brightness a bit, and that was easy to do with the onscreen menu. If your looking for a plasma (read the reviews, better than LCD, but LCDs are catching up I admit) this is the model, or it's bigger brother - which is unfortunantely fairly expensive. I guess price is relative!

This Plasma HDTV has a great picture in a room with plenty of sunlight during the day. Easy to install and easy on the eyes both when watching TV or entertaining guests in the room with it turned off.

I have had the TV for 6 weeks now and I can't complain. Love the "Touch of Color". Great picture. I went to Tweeter and compared it side by side against a bunch of other LCDs and Plasmas. For the price, this TV beat the LCDs hands down in terms of picture quality. I am not so impressed by the sound quality, but with a home theatre setup, this won't be an issue. My only complaint - takes almost 10 seconds after power on before displaying a picture.

This is a great TV. I guess if you are a fanatical home theater guru you could differentiate the picture quality between this and a Pioneer or other higher end unit, but for a basic sports fan this TV is so far and above better that my "1080i HDTV" rear projector bought 7 years ago that there is no question about the great value. I'm totally happy.
