Good enough
These paper towels are not quite as soft nor absorbent as Bounty, but they're good enough for every use I've thrown at them. The price through Amazon's Subscribe & Save makes the competitive with the regular brands, with the obvious benefit being that they're made of 100% recycled paper (Bounty, as a comparison, uses 100% virgin fiber).
If your primary concern is the environment, then you will want to consider the effect of shipping 30lbs of paper towels across the country. You're probably best off using reusable rags whenever possible, but when you absolutely need a disposable towel, these work just fine.

Not bad and a nice way to reduce your eco footprint a little
While the 7th Generation paper towels aren't as absorbent as some of the higher end name brands they are a cut above the store brand and low end paper towels. We use a lot of paper towels at our house with 4 cats and 1 kid. So in an effort to reduce our impact on the planet I decided to try the 7th Generation towels. We may be using more a few more paper towels but at least they are made of recycled paper. I do wish they could get them to be more absorbent and still be eco-friendly. If you can get them on sale and pick free shipping they are worth buying. Friday, March 28th, 2008

Eco-friendly but inefficient
These paper towels are just not very absorbent. I don't mind that they are not white, that they don't have little food related drawings all over them, that they don't tear off in single 1/2 use sized strips or that there are not as many sheets to the roll as some others. What I mind is that, in order to clean up, dry up, whatever, I need to use more than I would if I purchased some that were less Eco-friendly. I'm going to try the white version next and see if they work better. Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

I thought these these were terrible...
...my wife wants to go "green" as much as possible so I gave these a try...forget about soaking up spills, these things are practically waterproof!...forget about scrubbing, they fall apart like wet tissue paper!...I want to be environmentally considerate but I practicality carries a lot of weight and these towels fail in that respect. Pefect Paper Towel
I love these. These are much better than some of the mass-market brands. The absorb well and dont leave lint. Monday, February 25th, 2008
