It's a filter

I wish it had a way to tell when it was ready for replacement like those pur faucet filters. It filters water I guess. We must have really hard water because with this filter and an external refrigerator ice maker type filter we still get tons of white spots/residue all over the freezer door water/ice dispenser. We'll consider a whole house filter or water softener next. Water from fridge tastes fine though.

GWF Equivalent

This product does replace the older GWF filter from GE, I was a little confused by the description but it does fit into the same mount. It is a little smaller but no adapter is needed.

I have a GE stainless-steel fridge using this filter. Worked great - noticed improved water taste from dispenser after installation.

Water Filter

By oredering this product on Amazon.com, it was $5.00 cheaper than ordering directly from GE. The product arrived in a timely manner and I am pleased with it.

It's dishonest to sell one filter for the price of three!

The price given for this product is the the price for a three-pack of water filters from any other vendor. However, Amazon only ships one filter, not a three-pack, which is what the price would otherwise imply you are buying. This is dishonest. Beware of this bad product description!
