Sony DAV-HDX500/i BRAVIA Home Theater System

Pues después de estar en busca de una buena opción, para completar mi T.V. Bravia; finalmente tomé la decisión y me quedé con éste fabuloso aparato.

En él, puedo reproducir mis DVDS con una calidad excelente, debido a la función de escalador, que mejora la imágen a lo más parecido a la Alta Definición (1080i). También con sus 1000w de potencia, es imposible no disfrutar de tu concierto o película favorita. Además de tener la facilidad de disfrutar las estaciones locales de radio, la gran gama de generos musicales y opciones que nos ofrece "XM Radio", mis CDS y mi Ipod... Vaya, en fin, todo un completísimo Sistema de Teatro en Casa.

Además con un costo mucho menor, en comparación a otras opciones disponibles en el mercado.

Superó todas mis expectativas.

So I added Sony DAV-HDX500/i BRAVIA Home Theater System for my surround sound because I heard the sync was nice between Sony items. Well I didn't check, (my fault) but I just didn't think there would only be 1 HDMI port. So I have to purchase a switch to have surround sound with my Blu-Ray movies and games. I was aggravated by this but I decided to plug in my Ipod to listen to some tunes. I had to test it repeatedly but I determined it takes at the least 6 minutes for the Ipod to sync. When it finally starts up I try to use the remote following the Manual instructions but I find it only does a few of the functions listed and sometimes it won't respond at all, and worst of all it cuts out sometimes when skipping tracks. The manual talks of OPR mode to get it so you can use the Ipod to select tracks etc, but I can't seem to find this mode anywhere. So I have been greatly dissapointed with this purchase.

In addition to the 500 and 500/I versions, there is also the 500W.

500 is the basic system.
500/i includes the Ipod port.
500/W included the Ipod port AND the Sony WAHTSD1 Wireless Kit for Rear Speakers.

I found the 500/W at Costco for $480, and at the time it also had a $50 coupon so it was $430 PLUS TAX.

This is a nice system, at least for the undemanding types like me. The receiver does everything I want; many DVD sound formats.

The receiver may not have as many connection options as you would like, but for my simple setup with a TV and Dish Network, it is just fine.

Hookup is VERY easy. If you have a modern TV with HDMI input, its even easier.

If you get the wireless kit(also available separately on Amazon), you should know that the sending unit is too large to pass through the holes in a typical wall unit. It has an Ipod sized unit on one end of the wire (the IR sender), and a similar sized proprietary connector on the other. The IR sender goes on the wall and the connector goes into the Sony amp/tuner unit.

One can disassemble the connector and do the wiring job, but its not easy. And it probably voids the warranty.

For the money, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

When I got the product, the I found setting up was easy and I couldn't be more please with the quality. I dought you could find a better more capable system for anywhere near the price.

The sound quality is exceptional. I love the multi-function receiver. I can easily switch between tv, dvd, cd, ipod and radio...and I love the ability to pre-program my favorite radio stations. This was definitely the best product for the money. After using it for a month now...I am still totally impressed.
