Sony ICF-S79V Weather Band Shower Radio

This radio works great in shower. But I have problem with the weather band. I live in Los Angeles. I switched the weather band channels from 1 to 5 and heard nothing but static. Is the weather band receiver of SONY ICF-S79V supposed to hear anything? Any suggestions are welcome!

We bought this for the bathroom. It has good reception, buttons to program in your favorite stations and weather and TV bands, too.

I'm so happy that I got this radio - the sound is great. I had a radio from Bath, Bed, and Beyond that the cd stopped working after a year, and then the radio went after about 2 years of working. The sound was never as good as the Sony radio.

This product is awesome and i would definitely purchase a sony product in the future. i really enjoy listening to the high quality music from this radio as i shower. great buy!!!! this would also make a great gift. TRULY WELL-MADE PRODUCT.

First, I bought this from BuyAccessories, I think because they were the cheapest overall. It arrived as the best packed item I have ever received. You know how Amazon stuff usually comes with the item on the bottom of the box and soft packing material piled on top - so no padding is on the bottom? Well, this item arrived in a box totally and evenly surrounded by foam peanuts/packing. How nice, a packing job that actually protects the item! Second, I've only had it for one month but it is great. Easy to operate. Nice hang strap. Gets all the stations I want, as long as the antenna is up in its cool little mounting suction cup. The weather band/station is not clear enough to hear, but I did not buy it for that. Every FM and AM station gives the weather every 15 minutes anyway. Overall, great reception for being inside a shower, inside a bathroom, inside a house. Oh and I LOVE the auto-off timer.
