Great little tv
I agonized over this purchase since there were such mixed reviews. This tv is wonderful. It works perfectly and has a good picture. I don't know what people find wrong with the sound. I guess I don't have discerning ears.

our second samsung
We purchased a Samsung 32" set about 5 months ago and have been very pleased with it. When our kitchen set died, we went looking for another set. Samsung makes a 22" in white- which filled all our requirements. The only difference between the two sets is that I had to change the factory settings and fine tune it myself. In the factory presets, the picture left something to be desired. I matched the settings to our 32" set but it still needed to be adjusted. Once done, the picture is fine. We are very happy with both of the sets and would recommend them.

Great littleTV
Got it a couple of months ago. Order the HDMI cable along with it. I paid $40.00 at RS (comparatively cheap). Great picture, not real loud, but you can add speakers easily. I plugged it into cable and it automatically grouped channels together that would otherwise be scattered all over the "dial". For instance, it groups Channel 6 (analog), Ch 6 Digital, Ch 6 SD (?) and Ch 6 HD. DVDs played on inexpensive, up-converting Sony DVD player look great so far.

Distorted sound
I am now sending my second LN22A451 back as the sound becomes distorted for a few seconds then corrects itself. Seems odd that I'd get 2 with the same problem. I didn't think I connected it wrong...cable in , and plug it in, no cable box, no receiver, no DVD, etc! The picture was great but I just didn't want to take the chance of it failing. I hooked another Samsung LNT1923H into the cable and there was no issue with the sound, indicating to me that it is not the fault of the cable signal. Oh well. Good luck with yours.

Nice tv for small rooms!
I purchased the Samsung LN22A450 after considering many other models in the Samsung lineup (the 19" version of this set as well as the 6 series version). I found that the 19" was still a bit too small for my liking, and the 6 series did not have enough improvements over this model to warrant the $90 increase in cost (the LN22A650 was on sale at a local store for $550). I ended up buying this television for $460 from amazon, and I am very happy with my decision. The tv is a perfect size for my small bedroom, and the picture quality is superior to many other brands that I have seen.

Pros:
-Built in digital tuner can be used to receive FREE HD channels via OTA broadcasts when connected to an antenna (almost all hdtv's have this, but it's an important feature to note if you don't want to pay for cable)
-PC input (VGA) can be used to connect a laptop for viewing streaming or downloaded internet content
-Picture quality (free HD channels are amazing, and upconverted DVDs are also great)
-Aesthetics of the tv set itself (it looks pretty slick when paired up with a matching upconverting dvd player, the Samsung DVD-F1080 1080p Upconverting Compact DVD Player)

Cons:
-Only 1 HDMI input
-VGA instead of DVI input for PC
-SRS "surround sound" is disappointing; I just keep it turned off and turn up the volume

Despite the few complaints, I still give this product 5 stars, because samsung seems to have gotten all the more important details right with this tv. You can't really expect to get impressive sound from hidden speakers that are pointed downwards, though the quality is good enough for a small room. Highly recommended!
