Great TV and Great Price from Warehouse Deals
I bought an open box unit from Amazon Warehouse Deals for $1604 and about $68 shipping. I was a little nervous about buying something used and repackaged in a new box, but after having it for a week I couldn't be happier. The description noted "cosmetic blemishes on main unit." After doing some research I concluded this could be anything from cat hair on the body to scratches/chips/knicks. The only "cosmetic blemish" we (me and the delivery guys) ever found was some sticker residue from the "Full HD 1080p"-type stickers that used to be on the front. That was easily rubbed off with a finger.

The TV itself is purely beautiful. I upgraded from an old Sanyo 32" SDTV that I've had for about 10 years so, of course, I've just been totally wowed by having a nice HDTV in my home. Picture quality is astounding on all sources. Non-HD cable channels are lacking in quality, but that's the same with any TV. The standard definition channels come through very nice on this TV and it doesn't bother me to watch them at all. If anything, it definitely looks better to me on the HDTV than on the SDTV. It has lots of picture options and modes for sports, movies, etc. The body of the TV is very nice. The red Touch of Color is a nice effect and definitely adds to the beauty. The red is not insanely bright so it's noticeable but it's nowhere near an eyesore.

The 120hz refresh rate is great on this TV. I spent a few hours at Best Buy and Circuit City evaluating 120hz TV's. It's not hugely noticeable on regular things (sitcoms, SD channels, etc). It makes a noticeable difference when watching sports in HD. It makes an incredible difference when watching movies in HD and on DVD (I don't have a Blu-ray Player so standard DVDs here). Some people don't like the way it makes movies look since it does take away that film "feel." Personally, I like it much better because it makes things very smooth. It's easily turned on and off via the remote and actually has 5 settings: Off, Low, Medium, High and Demo. Turned to Low and Medium you retain about 50% and 25% of that film "feel" respectively. On High you've got the full 120hz, and Demo shows you 120hz enabled on one half of the screen while the other half has it disabled for comparisons.

I've seen a lot of complaints about the speakers in this TV, and while the speakers aren't amazing, they aren't terrible either. They are perfectly fine for average TV viewing. Personally, I don't feel the need to turn on the stereo and crank up my speakers just to watch G4, VH1, Discovery Channel or some other generic TV viewing. They sound fine to me and are plenty loud enough for general viewing.

The remote control is very nice. I only use it now to change sources since I use the universal that comes with my cable service for pretty much everything else. There are touch-sensitive "buttons" on the right side to use for power, volume, channel and a handy source button if you ever need to control sans remote.

The TV stand is good and has a nice swivel. I don't use the stand anymore since I mounted the TV to a wall. A plastic cover is provided to cover the hole where the stand goes. Mounting this TV was pretty easy. I used the Peerless SF6640 Universal mount purchased from Amazon. Installing the brackets to the TV was simple. The back of the TV isn't cluttered with unnecessary markings or anything and is the same size everywhere the brackets went. Hanging the TV on the wall was a two-person job simply because I didn't want to risk dropping it. It's 64 pounds without the stand, and, while I could lift it and mount it myself, it's just easier and safer to do it with two people.

One of my main concerns with the mount I got was the clearance for cables plugged into the TV. The mount offered 1.7" of clearance to the wall. I organized my cabling very neatly and ended up with about 0.25" of clearance from the cables to the wall. The included power cord is a right-angle cord and easily fits with the wall. The input panel is slightly set in so it gives a little extra room there (about a quarter of an inch). The component and HDMI cables are curved from the connector to the center of the TV. I didn't have to make any hard curves or bends to get it to fit, but they are not ideal in my opinion. The cables and inputs are in no danger of being damaged, but I would've liked to have 0.1" more just to keep things from having to be curved much at all. On the back of the TV in the center is an attached table wrap that makes routing your cables down and away from the TV easy and neat.

The delivery service was great. They set it up on my temporary stand and powered it on to make sure it worked. I let them take the box after they informed that if I needed to exchange the TV, Amazon would just send me a new TV in a new box anyway and I could just use that box to return anything.

Overall this is one of the best purchases I've ever made, and I got a stellar deal at $1604.81 before shipping. I will be incredibly happy with this TV for many years.

Excellent!
From the moment of purchase to the delivery, this was a smooth process. The product was received on the date that was promised, and the TV is awesome. I read the reviews about CEVA, the shipper, and I was getting worried. Maybe we just got lucky, but they were great for us. As soon as Amazon gave us the tracking number, I went to their website and started tracking. Additionally, I found their phone number for their office in my area and I called them. They gave me all details and kept me informed of where the product was and when I should expect delivery, which the did not only on the day the promised but they called one hour earlier than delivery to confirm and where at my house exactly an hour later, so I didn't have to waste any time with this and was able to get right to work.

If you are looking at getting this TV, don't be afraid. Amazon group are professionals and their prices are much better than stores. You will not regret it.

Better than expected!!!
This TV is AWSOME!! 10x better than expected.
Equipment: Directv HD DVR, PS3 Blue ray,Sony HDX576WF home theater, All HDMI connections, optic audio(tv 2 home theater).
I have had no problems with the on-off issue. the audio could be better, however when used with the home theater its better than going to the movie theater. The picture is perfect. This is a good TV at a good price!

Excellent Television
I purchased the Samsung LN53A650 about 1 month ago. I absolutely love it so far. The picture is wonderful. I don't know what happened with the white glove delivery. The guys were nice enough to bring the TV inside for me, but they didn't unpack it. The sound on the TV isn't too great but the picture more than makes up for it. I bought a PS3 and watched 2 Blu-Ray movies on it. I couldn't be happier about this purchase.

Arguably the best picture out there!
I researched quite a few formats including LCD, DLP and plasma before deciding that the sharpness and lifelike image of LCD were most important for my personal viewing. It came down to the Sony 52XBR4 and the Samsung LN52A650. They are both excellent performers, but the 650 has the advantage in picture clarity and the "through the window" look. At first, I felt the Touch of Color was gimicky and was actually a deterrent. After seeing it set up in my home, that slight hint of cherry red makes the set look unique and classy. My friends have commented on how good this unit looks, just setting there!

Delivery was ahead of the estimated time and the service men did an excellent job of placement and of answering my questions. They were perfunct, but pleasant and thorough.

I highly recommend purchasing a Blu-ray player or PS3 and a few BD's to accompany the 650. Every picture looks good on this set, but the Blu-ray connected via HDMI creates an image that looks almost 3D.

The TV's settings are highly customizable using the remote. The control's wheel takes a bit of getting used to as it can be tricky at first to coordinate the press of the remote and the zipping by of the on-screen menu selections. All in all, this is a very minor complaint. Buy this set and you won't be disappointed.

A final note about Amazon. They have one of the best cusotmer service policies in the busines and they back up their word. When I purchased the LN52A650, Amazon's description including a comment that was easily miscontrued to imply you were getting an additional discount of $200. Actually, the offer was for $200 off some sports items. While Amazon, technically did nothing wrong, they later issued me a $100 gift certificate, an apology for any misunderstandings and still enabled me to use the original $200 sports offer if I wished. In a business environment where "customer service" is more of a mission statement than a reality, Amazon.com gives their customers ample reason to return.
