Love BSG hate the stupid download process
Who put this unbox application in production. Has Amazon lost it's mind? This application is not ready for primetime. Was the QA department paid off to put this in production? What a joke.

This IS the best show on television
So I have been waiting months and months to show my sister the 3rd season of BSG. I use to have it on my Tivo but I moved out of the house where I had it at. So, since April I have been not so patiently waiting for season 3 to come out on DVD. Now January 6, 2008 I feel I have waited long enough. I downloaded it on Unbox and for Christ sake it is taking for ever. This episode rocks but Amizon has to figure out a way to get this taken care of a little quicker

Read the title negative reviewers.
Hey whiners, read what it says:

"The Story So Far will serve as a refresher for current fans and as a primer for anyone new to the world of Galactica."

Posting a "review" that says it's a rehash makes me say, well duhhhhhh. What did you think "The Story So Far" means? Read before you look silly people.

Great story line! I watched the free "story so far" and I was sold
First of all, the amazon unbox software is extremely resource intensive. It tends to hog up my computer to the max and it crashes. I have a fast system too with the latest hardware so it's not my system.
The advantages are - the movies are cheaper to download in bulk. Less work then buying online and waiting for the DVD or renting it at the store (if you can even find it) For 20 dollars a commercial free, cheaper than the DVD (but DVD quality) season was a good deal. I plan to buy more seasons on unbox.

Now to the real review - I have almost finished watching all of Season 1 BSG and it's awesome. I have never seen any of them before but I am a big SCI FI geek and I loved Star Trek. Computer graphics in the shows are excellent and the story line really strings you along well to wonder what's going to happen next. Two thumbs up for putting hot women in this series, and making them show up everywhere. What's sci-fi without hot robot women?

Bill Gates Wins Again
I realize that PCs are dominant in market penetration, but when Amazon is up against itunes and brick/mortar, you'd think they'd use all the tools in the arsenal to make money and gain penetration as a legitimate video download option. And BSG would have been the perfect nexus of users/market leaders to serve as brand advocates. The decision to go PC only sucks. My opinion of Amazon just dropped precipitously.

Sadly, the producers of BSG have done such a poor job getting their product into the hands of their fans, the options are few for those who really want to get caught up. Could there be a worse way to convert new fans? I can't think of one.
