Beautiful Moonlight in low ambient light areas!
I have two 4-light sets by Malibu as well. We live in a rural area where the night sky can get pretty dark. These 3-LED lights produce a blueish, moonlight cast and don't contribute any night sky pollution. We have 4 lights spaced about 10' apart and mounted on the outside of a deck railing, facing down so that it shines through the pickets and onto the floor, but also onto the ground around the deck, about 8' below.
We have another 4-light set in the horse barn, situated so that the aisle and stall doors are lit as well as two entrances. Beautiful as accent lighting, but great for finding you way through a dark barn.
I replaced the included batteries with panasonic ni-mh and they last all night.

Solar pleasure
I use this set in my bedroom to accent light a ficus tree in the evening. They are tucked into the base with the spike attachments and aimed directly up into the tree. It looks very nice, the light is typical bright white/blue LED.
The 'solar collector' unit is in the window, getting about 5 hours of direct morning sun, and daylight the rest of the day.
You will find that if you plug in 2 of the spotlights instead of 3, they will be brighter. I only use the 2 lights, and even with the limited sunlight they stay on a good 8 hours. The lights dim gradually as the power is exhausted.

Good, Works Fine
It's solar, easy to install and it does its job. Good price. It's not as bright as those electric lights but for it works well for us who like no fuss lighting.
We'd love to have ones like this with amber colored lights. It works well in our garden.

Outstanding!
These are fantastic solar powered lights. I have had them for about 6 weeks now and I've really put them through their paces. I bought 3 sets from Amazon and two sets at WalMart, and will be buying more. I have find some awesome uses for these lights. You can easily disassemble the light and pull out the LED and reflector for use as you wish (indoor lighting, etc.). The solar panel provides enough charge to burn all through lights (3 LEDs each) all night and they're still burning bright come morning. My kids even use these as night-lights in their rooms just for fun. I primarily use the lights for providing lights for security cameras and such. These are not your typical solar powered landscaping lights. I don't know why they are as good as they are (I'm sure it's not intentional) but why look a gift horse in the mouth. TOP OF THE LINE! VERY PLEASED!!!
First off im pretty picky about quality, and i have to say that the quality of the lights, is light, yet sturdy plastic.
The lights include PLENTY cable for running them far far away from the sensor/panel.
The Solal cell is Glass, unlike the ones i have bought in the past that were made from resin or plastic this one shouldnt crack and and i expect it should last at least 5 years or more...even the plastic ones i have and they are still running after 4 years.
Malibu delivers with their Rechargable batteries. The included are good quality. Good ni-cad technology can last up to 800-900 charge cycles.
I have dealt with these SAME batteries before in other units i have 4 years now and they are still maintaining to hold charge.
I AM IMPRESSED.
another Great aspect of this unit is they make a user friendly panel for battery replacement. It sure seems from the design that the designeres intended this to last at least as long as the Solar cell itself....which...coudl be many years from what im reading online about Solar cell technology.
Just to be extra safe i squirted Di-electric grease in each socket that the lights plug into to prevent condensation/outdoor issues from inhibiting the connection over long periods of time. I also did this to the battery terminals. After doing this i have noticed for years no i never have problems with connections.
after buying MANY solar lights for my backyard, i have to say this is the best set i have yet, I WILL be buying 3 more of these, at 30 bux a pop with free shipping..its a steal.
