Mayfair 48E2 Slow Close Toilet Seat with Lift Off Hinge, Round, White Wood

I really like the slow close feature and the price is not outrageous. This one is wood so it is nice and solid unlike the flimsy plastic ones... I was worried that being wood it would be too heavy to work... but the slow close works fine (maybe even a little on the slow side)... Only con is that it doesn't look as contemporary or streamlined as the others... but hey its a toilet seat cover...

Really easy to install, I guess. I handed it to my 11 year old and was going to go help when I got a chance but he came out and said it was finished too quickly. He had never removed or installed a seat before. I like the no slam feature but you cannot override it. If you want to grab the seat and close it you will find yourself frustrated, it wants to close verrrry slowly and will not be rushed. I just have to get used to it. The quick remove feature is the best, though. To clean I snap the whole thing off, run it under the shower, and pop it back on. Now I know there is no gross build up under or in the hinges.

This is a great seat. I really like the Slow Close. It went on easier than expected. I also like the quick release feature so you can quickly remove the seat and clean under it, especially in the hinge area. A good deal.
