Works as well as I expected
As a blower it works very well - lots of power to move even accumulated piles of leaves. As a vacuum, it also works well and does a good job of chopping the leaves - carrying the bag on ones shoulder is a little awkward but worth getting used to for those areas where you have to get between lots of shrubs and other spots that are hard to rake or blow. Does the job
Well built. Blows and vacs at tremendous speeds, but dialable with infinite variable control. The metal impeller crunches up leaves as designed and advertised. I'd suggest staying with dry leaves, but that's really just common sense. Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Best of the three I've owned
I've owned three blower/vacs (Two were black and decker) and this is clearly the most powerful and best at mulching leaves. The others had hard plastic teeth and this one has metal ones. Like all the electric powered ones I've used, it is best on dry material, but the Toro did handle the damp leaves better than my other leaf vacs (fewer clogs, leaves chopped up better).
My main reasons for not giving 5 stars are these two:
1) Many of the electric yard tools I've used have some way to secure the cord so that it physically cannot unplug itself. This would be useful.
2) Though I can't say any have been terribly comfortable, I've yet to find a way to hold the vacuum and bag that is very comfortable. The end that exhausts into the bag tends to kink if I hold the bag in a way that is most comfortable.
