Toro Ultra 12 Amp Variable Speed Electric Blower/Vacuum With Metal Impeller #51599

I purchased the Toro Ultra Blower/Vacuum this fall (2008) to replace a gas powered leaf vac/mulcher I had. While not as powerful as the gas powered I was very pleased with its ability. It had no problem sucking up and mulching even wet leafs. Because it wasn't quite as powerful as the gas version it actually turned out to be better vacuuming over our rock gardens. It picked up the leaves but didn't pull in even the smallest rocks. Its also much quieter than the gas version. The only downside I see is that the position of the cord into the unit could've been placed in a better spot. It tends to get in the way a lot when using it as a vacuum. But this is a small nit and not something that would keep me from purchasing it.

The metal impeller is the way to go. Especially if you have alot of twigs in your yard. The suction could be stronger but it could be designed that way so you wont pick up heavier metal object which would damage impeller.

I have use a few leaf blowers, gas and electric, over the years and I couldn't believe that this Toro put all of the others I have used to shame. It is the best I have ever used. It vacuums with more suction and will even pick up wet leaves. The blower will even move leaves that are stuck in the dirt.I am glad I found this one.

This replaced an older model we had. This is much more powerful and easy to use. Must have for leaves.
