Not worth the price
I wish this game adhered to the old adage "You get what you pay for." Had that been the case, Carnival Games MiniGolf would be simply outstanding. After all, that's what you'd expect from a nearly $40 game, right? Unfortunately, I'd have to say that this game crams $15 worth of entertainment value into a $35 pacakge. The graphics are decent, the sound effects are downright annoying at times, some of the holes require 0% skill and 100% luck, and the number of holes is limited. It's as though the game was only partially developed when the company decided to slap it together and market it. If it had several complete 18 hole courses and if the holes were whimsical but not nonsensical, this game would be worth the price and a lot of fun. As it is, it's annoying and frustrating, and left me feeling like 2K Play owes me the $20 I overpaid for this game. Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Challanging
This is a great game for testing patience and control for kids of all ages. Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Close, but no cigar.
So you'd think that with the Wii's wireless, motion sensitive controls mini golf games would be a no-brainer and there would be bunches of them, like all the racing games out there. Sadly that's just not the case and this another good example of getting almost right.
I own and enjoy carnival games and I think it works well because it deliveres fun mini-games in a carnival setting that very closely resemble the actual games they're based on. In the case of carnival games:mini golf, the golf courses are just too different from real life to be really fun. They went overboard and created courses where your ball goes down long winding stretches, meaning you put once and then watch your ball go on an adventure.
I think the reason anyone would buy a mini-golf game is to play mini golf in their living room at an imaginable course. The folks that program these games need to take a cue from the golf part of wii sports, which is as close as you can get to golfing in your house. There's nothing other worldly about it which makes it fun and very re-playable.
With any luck we'll be able to buy a simple realistic mini golf game for the wii one day but this one ain't it. This is a novelty game which looks great and is even clever but it fails to satisfy the basic desire to play put put with your tv.

Very disappointed
I purchased this game for our family after reading so many great reviews about it. However, after actually playing the game with my teenage son, I am EXTREMELY disappointed. I expected a more realistic mini-golf experience, but this game is just silly. It is not at all realistic and does not require any of the skill or strategy of real mini-golf. While it may be entertaining for youngsters, I strongly recommend renting this game to determine if it is a "good fit" for you and/or your family before considering the purchase of it. Pleased
This game has been a lot of fun for our family. I think it is much more fun playing with multiple players rather than along. It is a great family game. My 4 year old's favorite part is dressing up the players and she could spend a half hour just doing that. Our whole family enjoys it and there are easy parts for younger people and more challenging parts for older people. I don't think it's a great game just for adults. Saturday, January 3rd, 2009
