Melissa & Doug Wooden Sandwich-Making Set

I purchased this for my 2 1/2 year old nephew for Christmas. He absolutely LOVES it. He loves making his own cheeseburgers. The pieces are a nice size and the Velcro is a clever idea. I highly recommend it for little cooks. I also recommend Melisssa & Doug products - this is the 5th item I've purchased and all have been well-received.

We love Melissa & Doug toys in our house. My daughter gets hours & hours of creative play from their products. I have no complaints about quality and haven't had any problems with this set. This set allows for tons of mix & match fun with the various pieces and even provides educational opportunities (How many green items are there? How many red? Can you make me a sandwich with 4 pieces? How about 6?). It even comes in a great wooden box, not cardboard, which comes in handy for storage.

It seems that at least one reviewer had a peeling paint issue; I would suggest to anyone with any type of quality issue to call Melissa & Doug. They have WONDERFUL customer service and are VERY responsive to any question or issue. We had an issue with a puzzle once and they replaced it quickly and with no hassle on our end.

We also called to query about the "Made in China" paint issue once all of the problems began to surface. We were informed that all of their products follow strict quality control, supervised by M&D personnel, and that there is NO lead in ANY of their paint whatsoever.

I can honestly say that I feel safe & confident giving Melissa & Doug toys to my child, or any other child.

I bought this toy for a 3 year old boy. He already has several other cutting foods from Melissa and Doug. This is a great toy to add to the collection.

We've had our M&D Sandwich Making Set for years now, and it is still a favorite with my two, four and six year old. The velcro still sticks together well, and the velcro tabs are securely attached.

The paint has chipped a lot from years of rough play. This toy is made in China, but there is a reassuring safety statement at the M&D Web site promising that their toys are well tested, including the paint. Some of the pieces were made from slightly split pieces of wood, and repeated stress has finally broken them. This is a nice alternative to plastic, and I will continue to buy M&D toys as long as they remain safe.

My 3 grandchildren, ages 2 1/2 to 3 1/2, love this! They take orders for sandwiches, then have a great time making them! The pieces are made from wood, so there is nothing to break.
