Hitch does not fit together right. BAD quality control.
We have a two year old CO PILOT and our 40 lb 7 year old loves it. Because we live in a big city, she won't graduate to riding "solo" for a while, except around the block or in a park. She will get a couple more years use out of it. There are more expensive, perhaps lighter brands, but once you get a working Co Pilot it is a joy.

But -- we have had TWO severe mechanical problems. Our very first Co Pilot, the pedals just "free wheeled" and did not drive the chain, so we returned it the same day and good working model. Now, two years later, we have just bought a second Co Pilot. The company says there is a "new hitch design". Well, the hitch fits inside the sleeve or clamp - NOT. It arrived with the arm inside the sleeve (the bike mount) and it could just as well have been welded on. Whoever fit those two parts together must have been a Superman!! Eventually I got it off, but even with oil and effort it will not fit back inside the sleeve, to mount and use the bike. If the company provides a working hitch, where Part A and Part B actually fit together, I will update my review. If I do not get help, I will return the whole thing back in the big box to Amazon.

Assembly is about 10 minutes (seat, pedals, handlebars, all simple.)

Love it!
My husband put it together with no trouble. Our 4 1/2 year old daughter just loves it and she couldn't stop herself from laughing the whole time on her first ride! She was so happy to ride behind me and go fast.
Great value and quality. The only reason I rated it a 4 is because the flag broke the first time I put the bike in the car to take it to a metro park. I wish the flag pole was more flexible, oh well, the bike itself is great!

Good Price...But Safe?
I had read the negative reviews regarding the tag-along suddenly leaning but in also seeing the positive reviews, I had hoped the concerns were isolated incidences. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The combination of the two factory pivot points along with the rotation at the main bike's seat creates the unsafe situation described by other reviewers. The tag-along tilts heavily. I am surprise there has not been a recall. Fortunately, I had brackets left over from the child seat I had removed. With these brackets, I believe I have corrected the situation as the tag-along can no longer pivot at the main bike's seat. Aside from the leaning situation, another concern I had was that the tire locked up within minutes of using it. I'm not sure why it locked up, but we were able to free it up, and it seems okay now. It is a bit of a worry not understanding why it locked up. Finally, I would point out that the bike is big. I cannot imagine putting a 4 year old on this bike. My son is a few years older, and it seemed he was just able to fit on it(with some room to grow). In conclusion, at about $100 less than higher end tag-along, the price was great. Unfortunately, I did have issues, and I should not have had to correct them (or at least I hope I corrected them...time will tell).

Works fairly well
My 7 year old loves riding the Co-pilot. The only issues that I've had are with the connections to the main bike. The seat post isn't secure enough with the quick release and when you take a turn it was also turning the main bike's seat. Even after tightening the quick release it still moves a small amount. I wish that the connection was smaller and attached to the frame and not to the seat post.
