Did the job
This scanner even brought my ex-husband's childhood to life through ancient film... a fine choice! Scanning slides a bit more time-consuming. Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Works well, as advertized
I bought this printer after having used the 8600F for a long time. Both scanners work very well, and are quick and quiet. Excellent colors and detail. Great for negatives as well, although it takes a long time to scan them for some reason. The difference between this and the 8600F is not noticeable, though this one doesn't have to warm up, which is nice. Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Never received it
The company that was supposed to send this to me never did, and when I called to ask where it was, they only credited my card back without any phone call or explanation what so ever. Nice customer service huh? Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Great scanner for slides
I bought this scanner based on the amazon reviews and they were absolutley correct. this scanner performs very well. I have over 1000 slides that are pain to set up to view with a projector. i looked at having them done by a professional lab but the cost was a bit more than my budget. now that i have scanned over 150 slide i find the proces is just as much fun as the result. that is i get to review them before they are digitized and discard the bad ones.
the qulaity of the image is truly great if the scan is done at the equivalent of a 6 Megapixal digital camera image - about 2MB minimum.
the process is pretty straightforward, and clean. i do find i must touch up most images but the integrated Adobe Elements program dones a nice job.
I am totally satified with this product.

Not too bad - software just a bit buggy
Well worth it for $200. For the most part I'm loving it. MP Navigator software to capture images straightforwards. No real issues with OS X (10.4.11) Only complaints are that you can only scan 4 slides at a time and after scanning a few dozen images, there begins to appear black horizontal lines that run along the top and/or bottom of the images. Totally weird. Quitting the software and restarting the scanner helps only temporarily...gotta put them both to rest for awhile to get back to normal but then the black horizontal lines appear again.
